Princeton Tec Helix Lantern Series
Просмотров 21 тыс.8 лет назад
When PTEC set out to design our series of lanterns, we took a long, hard look at which design elements would best serve the end user. Folding legs raise the Helix to provide broad lighting; they also create stable foundation that holds fast even on irregular surfaces. These lanterns hang from all different angles, whether cooking, playing cards, or getting settled in the tent. The controls are ...
40 Years of Princeton Tec American Manufacturing
Просмотров 3,8 тыс.9 лет назад
It all started 40 years ago in Princeton, New Jersey. Bill Stephens was running the dive shop he founded, and punching the clock at his day job. An engineer by day; an entrepreneur by night. When Bill’s 9 to 5 tried to relocate the Stephens family to Indianapolis, far away from the Atlantic Ocean where he loved to dive, Bill quit and refocused on manufacturing the industry's first automatic div...
2015 Backpacker Editor's Choice - Princeton Tec Sync
Просмотров 4,5 тыс.9 лет назад
Backpacker Magazine tested the Princeton Tec Sync (princetontec.com/sync) to great effect. This is what they had to say: "In the last few years, headlamps have been trending toward the super-techy, with rechargeable options, programmable lighting, ambient light sensors, swipe controls, and price tags that will drop your jaw (upwards of $150). Which is exactly why we came to love this basic mode...

Can peltors be run with this?
Why couldn't they do this for their rail link version? For medics who want a blue/IR light this would be better than the red/IR version that comes with the rail link.
Streamlight called, they want their Stalk back!
Random thought: how long until NVG, lights, comms, strobes are all integrated into one internal power source and/or controls on helmets? 🤔
I think ops core has that with the raillink (i think thats the name)? These guys actually make a light for it lol
That's already been done bro... for the low cost of 4600 dollars 😂
We're literally already there, but it's pretty pointless for civvi, as you don't have HUD type setups and fusion overlay which is where this integration really comes into its own.
Any love for losers that have the HHV mlok setup?
on their site, it says what adapters it comes with, looks like mlok is on the list
Fuck hunters and rest of animal abusers

Are the PCBs and plastic housings made in the USA?
How does the model with chargeable battery fare in 10 degree fahrenheit weather?
This looks great, though I wish people would stop calling single button interfaces 'intuitive'. But are you ever going to come out with an updated usb-c version?
looks useless...how and where do you use it ? like really ?
Was that a serious question?
Looking to get this one. I like the concept of a removable beam.
Why does the charge and charge pro have two different directions? The charge goes over the rail on the right side of your helmet when the pro goes over on the right?
Would make more sense to have IR first
When it’s turned off you can press and hold the power button and it goes straight to IR. Tap it again and it goes off rather then having to cycle through the other colors.
Tell you didn't have MPLS in hand without telling me you didn't have MPLS in hand
Bought the basecamp. Used it a few times. Stored it for the winter and now it won't work despite a full charge.
I can’t believe I’ve never seen this. What a story stringbean!
what an amazing video. very inspirational
Are those real quad nods
Do you know who he is? Yes those are real.
@Emmanuel Goldstein Good one, loser lol.
I didnt know you did much outside the diving world. Thats awesome.
i still like this video :)
Bought two of these...in one week! Why? Because the tab snaps off when taking the light off the mount...twice. Sending back AGAIN.
Why oh why do manufacturers build such wonderful headlamps with utterly STUPID push button on/off switches that switch on in a pack and run down batteries? Use a twist on switch, or put a latchable cover over the button. This comment from 50 years of wilderness use. Princeton tech was my first headlamp, and my second and third...
Because it has a Lock Out mode to prevent that. From the manual: "Lock out Mode to prevent accidental activation: Can only be activated during OFF mode. To enter Lockout mode, press and hold button for three seconds. To indicate success, two red LEDs will flash"
@@MJ12283 Thanks! Didn't know that. Am impressed that you had a manual and actually read it! I'm still a dinosaur that would prefer a simple bomb proof on/off switch rather finding programming options in a manual, one option of which is to time my hold on a button and await flashing lights. :-) I have moved on to a Zebra light by now. Sincerely, thanks.
Thanks for making it in the USA! I'm going to buy one for that reason alone. Would be cool to see some higher lumen versions as well. I wish the Bluetooth one had a stand alone remote though, so you wouldn't have to use a phone.
Very interesting design.
The only dive lights used by The Dreadknots - See these products used in action on Underwater Empire!
Thanks for keeping your manufacturing facility in the States.
I was really hoping this would be a current-controlled headlamp, but that touch of flicker would suggest it is PWM.
Hey! Thanks for checking out the Axis. As you surmised, it is a PWM. PWM is what we see as the best option to create a high quality headlamp with the dimming function, but keep it in a friendly price point, as the Axis is part of our "Family Series" of product. You probably already are aware of this - but the way the camera records light (depending on the frames per second) is different than how your eye perceives it, in person the small "flicker" you mention is not able to be seen in person.
i really want the Vizz II
i just bought one
@@Chiefab22 there is not a Vizz II. Just a plain old Tec Vizz
Лайк. На какую камеру снимал?
This is an excellent video!!!
The 146 hours is for red mode according to the PTEC website. White mode runs for 96 hours.
Have a bunch of their products all great and Made in the USA! Used warranty once after 4 years no problem sent the old one and got a new one no BS no receipt. Sold a bunch to friends also, Use them for night kayaking, construction work, mechanical work.

waterproof to what depth?
Thanks!
I...this is the strangest ad I've seen in a while. And I like it.
Some really nice shots and a fitting poem. Are the caves open to the public?
Made in USA goodness! Wish it was waterproof, though.
Looks pretty nice. And made here, too (which is why I like Princeton Tec - most of your lights are made in the USA).
